Showcase

Innovate • Facilitate • Captivate

Through partnership with the Teaching Innovation Center, Tandon faculty and staff actively engage their students by implementing technology-enhanced teaching materials and methods. Past projects of this kind have ranged from developing instructional videos to implementing mobile in-class polling, gamified learning, and more.

Teaching Innovation Application Development

Automated Grading Platform (AGP)

The AGP project, in collaboration with Industry Associate Professor Nicholas DiZinno and Professor Ghania Benbelkacem of the Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Department, is a grading and feedback system for establishing a Total Quality Management approach for teaching and learning.

Dynamic Data Adaptor (DDA)

This is a new project starting Fall 2022 in collaboration with NYUIT Enterprise Architect and Cloud Teams.  The developer will design an AWS serverless application to securely access University APIs and convert the data into a format that can be imported into Accudemia, a tutoring activity tool used by the TRIO Scholars Program at Tandon.

Tracker

The Tracker application project began 2012 out of a need to automate some of the manual data tracking and analysis of tutoring activities in the TRIO Scholars Program. It was a PHP app that was hosted on an AWS server and actively used by TRIO students, tutors, and program staff.  Tracker was in use until 2020.

Pre-registration Tutorial

This award-winning online tutorial uses a fun, gamified approach to prepare undergraduate incoming first-year students for the process of registering for classes. Developed in partnership with the Academic Advisement Center, the tutorial is released to these students every Spring as part of the New Student Online Orientation program.
