Fellowships
Financial support for New Ph.D. and M.S. Students in Electrical and Computer Engineering
The NYU School of Engineering and the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department will offer highly competitive four-year support for outstanding Ph.D. applicants. The support will be in the form of fellowships, research assistantships, and/or teaching assistantships, and will cover a stipend for 12 months, plus tuition and fees, for each year.
Ph.D. applicants with excellent academic records are encouraged to contact ECE faculty members whose research areas match with their interests to seek their nomination for these fellowships.
Admitted Ph.D. students will have the opportunity to work closely with our faculty as well as researchers at other institutes of NYU, including School of Medicine, Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences, Center for Urban Science and Progress (CUSP), and our global campuses in Abu Dhabi and Shanghai. Our location in New York City also provides many opportunities to engage with local high-tech startups and industrial labs (including AT&T Labs, Bell Labs, Facebook, Google, IBM Research, Microsoft, Siemens, Verizon, Yahoo!), and to partake in the diverse cultural offerings across the city.
Interested in studying for a Ph.D. in New York City? Apply now!
Visit Graduate Admissions for information on how to apply. To be considered for support, you must apply by the deadline of December 15. Applications arriving after the deadline may still be considered if there is a strong endorsement from the faculty.
Successful applicants to the program are expected to have a BS or MS in Electrical and/or Computer Engineering or a closely related field — such as Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Bio-Engineering — and should have an outstanding academic record. Students who aspire to go for a Ph.D. degree after obtaining an M.S. degree should apply for the Ph.D. program. Our Ph.D. program is designed to allow a student to obtain an M.S. degree in the process of completing a Ph.D. degree.
Applicants with outstanding credentials are also encouraged to consider the Abu Dhabi Global Fellow Program
