BS/MS Track in TMI

As the job market becomes more competitive and bachelor's degrees become more common, many students are choosing to extend their studies and pursue master's degree programs to expand the universe of roles they are qualified for, differentiate themselves for sought-after career opportunities, and boost their earning potential.

If you know you want to pursue a master's degree within your major, the BTM/MS track offers a combined and accelerated degree that saves you time and money. You save time because you can work concurrently toward your bachelor's and master's degrees in a condensed time frame. You save money because it is much less expensive than taking the traditional route of a 4-year bachelor's degree followed by a 2-year master's program.

If you are an engineering major, an accelerated degree with a Master’s Degree in Management of Technology has additional benefits. The Master’s Degree Program in Industrial Engineering is a top-ranked program focused on preparing students to assume organizational leadership roles after they graduate. An MS in Industrial Engineering can be an important complement to those engineering students who are interested in leveraging their core skills to take a leadership role in driving meaningful change.

Industrial engineers determine the most effective ways to design, manage and improve systems — people, processes, materials, information, and energy — to make a product or provide a service. In this regard, the IE program’s courses provide participants with a deep understanding of the foundational elements of industrial engineering.

Industrial Engineers play a key role in driving change. The skills that industrial engineers develop in areas like change management, organizational transformation and systems optimization are becoming increasingly valuable and highly sought after across a wide range of industries.

This opens up opportunities in many of the fastest-growing and best-paying positions in the job market. Our graduates work in consulting firms, financial services, health care, government, transportation, construction, social services, operations, and supply chain management.

Qualified students are typically considered for admission to the program during their junior year. In their remaining undergraduate semesters, they will complete some graduate coursework during regular terms and/or during the summer toward their desired master's degree.
