Personal Statement

A typewritten, double-spaced, well-organized, one to two-page statement explaining why you wish to pursue graduate study in your particular program at our particular school. This is your opportunity to introduce yourself and to inform the department about your goals, interests, and career plans as they relate to your intended academic pursuits. Please make sure to include your name (as it appears on your application), program, and date. This document should be uploaded to your online application, or emailed to Tandon.Digital.Learning@nyu.edu for paper applications.

Applicants to the NYU Cyber Fellowship M.S. program must submit a well-organized personal statement that is a maximum of 250 words. Your personal statement should be typewritten and double-spaced and can be uploaded directly to your application. It provides an opportunity for our admissions committee to get to know you better. You should use your personal statement to explain why you want to pursue cybersecurity in general and the NYU Cyber Fellowship program specifically. Your personal statement should highlight your personal background with cybersecurity and your future goals, interests, and/or career plans as they relate to graduate study. Please also make sure to include your name (as it appears on your application), the program you are applying to (the NYU Cyber Fellowship program), and the date.
