These informal technology-based specializations reflect the recent directional advances in the field. However, students may elect a unique focus by creating a curriculum that includes courses across the prescribed Knowledge Areas below:

The MOT Cybersecurity Management program is designed to equip emerging technology leaders with the interdisciplinary lens and foundational skills and knowledge to combat cybersecurity risk. The program sits at the intersection of business, technology, management, innovation, and cybersecurity and is suitable for professionals in information security and technology, control functions including Audit and Compliance, Business Unit Heads, aspiring Chief Information Officers, Chief Technology Officers, Chief Data Officers as well as CFOs and COOs. Students will join the NYU cybersecurity community and partake in NYU Cyber Fellows activities including hacking competitions, industry badges, speakers, events, and more.


Technology strategy blends business needs with technology-based solutions to achieve competitive advantage. Learn how to play a vital role in defining the technology direction for an organization and frame the formulation and execution of technology strategy.


Project management is the application of knowledge, skills, tools, and techniques to a broad range of activities in order to meet the requirements of a particular project. Curriculum



Continue creating a self-customized curriculum by organizing electives into Knowledge Areas.

These informal technology-based specializations reflect the recent directional advances in the field. However, students may elect a unique focus by creating a curriculum that includes courses across the prescribed Knowledge Areas below:

Cybersecurity Management

Students will take at least 5 cybersecurity courses (15 credits) in total, including 3 courses (9 credits) from the following list of courses offered by the Computer Science and Engineering Department:

Finally, students will take one more elective course (3 credits) either from the courses offered by the MOT program or any other course outside the department with the Academic Director's approval.
