NYU Abu Dhabi Visiting Student Semester Undergraduate Research Assistantship

This assistantship creates a platform for visiting students to contribute to an ongoing research project under the supervision of an NYUAD faculty member, who will serve as a mentor, collaborator, and role model.  Additionally, students will have access to state-of-the-art research facilities on campus. Previous student assistantship work has been varied and included laboratory sample preparation and field experiments, experimental data analysis, collecting original data, analyzing quantitative data, writing literature reviews or research reports, and filming videos to assist with research outreach and communication.

To be eligible for the research assistantship students must:

  • be currently enrolled in full-time, undergraduate study at NYU New York or NYU Shanghai
  • have completed a minimum of 60 credit hours of study before coming to NYU Abu Dhabi
  • have applied to study at NYU Abu Dhabi for semester study. Only students who are admitted to study abroad at NYUAD will be considered.
  • be physically present on campus in Abu Dhabi for the relevant semester of the assistantship
  • have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or above with a good overall academic and disciplinary record
  • have a demonstrated interest in and preparation for the research or its equivalent in the arts

NYU Abu Dhabi Visiting Student Summer Research Program (for spring study abroad students only)

NYU Abu Dhabi has announced its spring 2024 undergraduate research and arts apprenticeship opportunities for NYU in New York students who wish to build their research or creative practice experience during a semester abroad at NYUAD. These assistantships create a platform for visiting students to contribute to an ongoing research project under the supervision of an NYUAD faculty member. Assistantship recipients may have the opportunity of continuing the research project full-time in the subsequent summer by applying to the Summer Visiting Undergraduate Research Program.

In addition to having access to state-of-the-art research facilities, students will receive up to $3,000 of support toward their study away from NYUAD. The research assistantship positions span many disciplines within the Arts and Humanities, Engineering, Science, and Social Sciences. The deadline to apply is October 20th, 2023.

Practical Research Experience Program (PREP)

at the Technical University of Munich (TUM)

TUM PREP

Overview

Practical Research Experience Program (TUM PREP) is a summer program that will help students refine their research skills at one of Europe’s top-ranked technical institutions. While staying at the Technical University of Munich (TUM). In addition to challenging research projects, the internship program offers various benefits for the students, such as an accommodation offer, a € 1,000 scholarship sponsored by the DAAD, orientation and framework program, TUM buddies, Munich and the Alps.

Applications for summer 2024 will be accepted via the online application platform between October 1, 2023 and November 22, 2023.

All research projects offered in summer 2024 are now available via the TUM PREP Website. The program language is English. The TUM PREP program will run from July 1, 2024 to August 29, 2024.

For TUM PREP 2024, students can choose between a large variety of over 60 interesting research projects at our various university chairs, so that each student will hopefully find the perfect fit.

TUM PREP projects are offered by six different TUM Schools and many different TUM departments in the TUM campuses in Munich, Garching and Freising. Also for students outside of the engineering and natural sciences fields there is a lot to choose from. They can also do research in our departments of Architecture, Management, Medicine and Health Sciences, Management or Education.

Via the online TUM PREP Project Database it is easy to browse the different projects. Students can search in one of the TUM Schools / Departments for a suitable project described in a unique keyword, but can also enter keywords like the academic fields etc. This encourages students to also choose projects in a different field / department / School other than their study focus at the home university. Please see the guidelines for using and searching the database.

Applications for TUM PREP 2024

Please note that all students must have uploaded their documents online and submit their application latest by Wednesday, November 22, 2023. Also professors should send recommendation letters by this deadline.

After receiving the applications, TUM will try to place students in their projects of choice, and plan to finish the selection process by late January 2024. Students will be informed about their admission to the program between mid-December 2023 and end of January 2024. In any case, they will certainly keep you updated as well.

Important Eligibility Notes for NYU Applicants

  • ONLY students from NYU New York are eligible to participate

  • Tandon graduate students CANNOT receive academic credit for their participation

  • Tandon Ph.D. students are NOT eligible to participate
