FloodNet: the first-ever New York City flood-monitoring network

Institute Associate Professor Andrea Silverman joined NYU Tandon Dean Jelena Kovačević to discuss Floodnet, the flood monitoring system that NYU Tandon helped develop,  including the  challenges they’ve overcome to launch the program and the moving parts that make this possible. “The work that we're doing is trying to develop a new technology to be able to measure flood waters that happen at the street level in real time…is one of the examples of how we collaborate with the government because we really want o have an impact on lives of New Yorkers,” said Silverman.
