Indian-Americans' contributions to the American economy


Indians make up one of the largest immigrant groups in the U.S. and they contribute billions of dollars to the country’s economy. “Many of them had an excellent education,” said Professor Shivendra Panwar, about his impression of fellow Indian immigrants’ preparedness for advanced scientific work when they arrive. “They could immediately plug into the American economy, especially in STEM but in other areas as well, and help the process of pushing their respective fields, whether medicine or engineering…You’ll see them over-represented there.”
