US Senate AI ‘Insight Forum’ tracker

Tech Policy Press is rounding up information about Senator Schumer’s AI “Insight Forums.” Institute Associate Professor Julia Stoyanovich, who participated in the fourth forum on “High Impact AI,” shared her thoughts in a statement on the initiative: “The impacts of AI systems can be positive or negative. … Much additional work is needed to realize this potential: technical research and validation, up-skilling of radiologists to use AI while exercising agency and control, and engagement with patients and their families to further validate the systems and build trust. This work is challenging, but it’s worth it, and it would be irresponsible not to try!”
