About NYC Media Lab

Overview

The NYC Media Lab is dedicated to driving innovation and job growth in media and technology by fostering collaboration between New York City’s universities and companies. The Lab intends to amplify media innovation, build pipelines between companies and academia; while at the same time ensuring that all of these technologies are available to as diverse a community as possible.

The Lab is built on collaboration, companies participate in roundtable events on technology issues; connect with one another and with faculty, students, and other university resources; and direct projects on areas of interest to them. NYC Media Lab facilitates prototyping projects across a wide range of disciplines and programs.

NYC Media Lab is built on industry partnership, with our curated network playing a key role in the Lab’s events. NYU Tandon @ The Yard

NYC Media Lab is part of Tandon @ The Yard, NYU's newest Motion, Volumetric capture studio leveraging the Emerging Media expertise of NYU Tandon School of Engineering with industry and media partners across the country to create a new media hub and must-visit facility within the Brooklyn Navy Yard. Our industry partners participate in advanced faculty research in AR/VR/XR, plus virtual production, and other topics relevant to experiential technology and media.
