Sarmad is a Ph.D. student at MERIIT LAB, NYU. His research focus is on probabilistic models for data-driven robot learning and control with application to neurorehabilitation.  He got his B.S in 2015 from the K.N.Toosi University of Technology working on intelligent tactile sensing for boundary detection of cancerous tumors embedded in soft tissues. His M.S degree, on the topic of design, simulation, and control of mobile robots for teaching purposes, was granted in 2019 from Clarkson University, Potsdam, NY. His research interests include robotics, robot learning, and AI.
