Testing a cutting-edge navigation aid for visual impairment
Vice Chair for Innovation & Equity John-Ross Rizzo, MD is working with a team of researchers to develop user-friendly assistive devices. “Owing to its profound negative impact on individuals, visual impairment needs to be addressed timely and appropriately. While there are effective assistive devices that can ameliorate some of the consequences of visual impairment, R&D [research and development] is not progressing at the speed we need,” urged Rizzo.
